> there has been many a take on the state of tariffs. one thing I’ve been thinking about: the phrase “too big to fail”. this tango around tariff town has me wondering to what extent the US can isolate itself, yes, but also, to what extent other countries can afford not to do business with the country famous for its consumption behaviors. is The Empire itself too big to fail. is the US’s grotesque gluttony also our best leverage? time will tell, as with all things.
